“Lala” (America you have have compassion)

Juror, Carolyn Jacobs, made this comment:

“'This image tugs at my heart and reminds me to think “kindness first”.  This seems to me to be the only reasonable way forward through the challenges we as a society have faced recently and will continue to face in the foreseeable future. The asymmetry of the composition and richness of the pastel create an engaging composition with undeniable appeal—-in the sense that the image is beautiful, and in the question it asks us as viewers—--not, can we be compassionate, but how can we not be compassionate?”
